Stain removal depends on a few different factors, including the type of stain, material of the stained item, and how long the stain has set in.
If you notice one of your items is stained, send in the piece for professional dry cleaning as soon as possible. Timing can impact the success of the stain removal process. We do not recommend pretreating the stain at home, especially for silk items as it could cause further damage to the item.
Upon completion of the dry cleaning or laundering process, all items are scanned for residual stains. Stained items will most likely be spot treated or sent back through the cleaning process for another attempt at removing the stains. Since the Dry Cleaning process is designed to bring stains to the surface of the fabric, any additional treatment is typically very successful.
Spot treatment uses a steam gun with specialized pressure. The pressure can be changed depending on type of stain and material of the stained item.
The cleaning professional may choose to leave some stains untouched if they feel additional treatment could cause further damage such as a larger stain, water mark, or loss of color. If we’re unable to successfully remove a stain, we will notify you upon return.
